A Community That Invests in Its Children

Hannibal is more than a school district—it's a community that rallies around its students. Families, alumni, local businesses, civic organizations, and volunteers work alongside our schools to create meaningful opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom.

Caring People Make the Difference

What visitors notice first isn't our buildings—it's our people. Teachers, administrators, support staff, and coaches work together to create schools where students feel welcomed, challenged, and encouraged. We believe every child deserves an adult who knows them, believes in them, and helps them succeed.

Who We Are

Education has been part of the fabric of Hannibal for generations. Nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River and known around the world as the hometown of Mark Twain, Hannibal Public School District is proud to blend small-town values with innovative educational opportunities that prepare students for a rapidly changing future.

Serving more than 3,300 students from preschool through high school, we are large enough to offer exceptional academic, athletic, fine arts, and career pathways while maintaining the close-knit relationships that make every student feel known, valued, and supported.
